TWO men have been arrested and charged after a drugs raid on an Irvine street.

Police swooped on a property on the town's Cochrane Street on Friday, April 19.

Officers from Ayrshire’s proactive crime team and locality policing team attended and a warrant was executed at the premises.

Following this search a quantity of controlled drugs, with an estimated value of £1,200, were recovered.

Two males were arrested and charged in relation to the find and both will appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date.

Sergeant Will Thomson of the locality policing team in Irvine said: “This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to targeting those involved in the supply of controlled drugs on our streets.

"I would encourage the public to continue helping us so we can continue this work in our communities.
